The Highland Haven, converted barn, John O'Groats

The Highland Haven is perfect for those travelling the NC500 or visiting Orkney in a group. Our two rooms have traditional box beds and can sleep up to 10 (4 in one room, 6 in the other), each with Ensuite and an extra wet room. There is a large open plan kitchen, dining, lounging area surrounding a wood burner. We have secure parking, laundry facilities, free WIFI and offer fresh scones on arrival (pm for details). There's nowhere quite like it, check out @thehighlandhaven #sconewiththewind 😁

Southview is a newly renovated 17th century croft house , located in Portskerra , an old fishing port with slipway and harbour. Being 500m from the famous NC 500 A836 route, Southview has easy access to Thurso (17 miles) nearest town with supermarkets / shopping , and to the west, Betty Hill (13 miles) , with Melvich , Strathy , Farr and Reay beaches waiting to be explored . The king bedroom is on the ground floor with views of Thurso Bay and Dunnet Head. Within the room are fitted wardrobes, charging points and tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge. A continental breakfast is served in the room. Our home is situated above Scrabster harbour, it is a 15-20 minute walk to catch the Orkney ferry. Alternatively it is a great place to stay if you're working in the area or exploring Caithness. If you're passing through on the NC500 this is ideal as a stopping point

If you are searching for something special and unique, look no further you’ve found it. Staying at crosskirk cottage is like stepping back in time. Her sturdy two feet thick stone walls are a few hundred years old. She on the inside has a brand new facelift, and all the comforts we enjoy. The views here are stunning and will take your breath away like it does mine . A rare place indeed where the fresh water of the salmon filled Forss river flows into the sea. Take a stroll if you can and enjoy.
