It's the perfect location to stay for a week and enjoy everything the area of Swellendam & Bredasdorp has on offer. You’ll love Die Blouhuis because of the uniqueness of staying in a old-styled farm house. It is remote and therefor very peaceful, private and safe - perfect retreat for couples, solo adventurers and families, especially kids.

"ROOIKOP" A HOUSE ON THE BREEDE RIVER ESTUARY

A house on the estuary of a VERY BIG river ie - Lower Breede river - about 15km from the sea, the house is set back about about 15m from the river . It is completely off the grid , ie only solar power and rainwater. It might not suit city dwellers who need every gadget and convenience but its heaven for the hardier ones Please bring bedding and towels . The are pillows and various duvet inners but we don't have a washing machine so we cannot supply linen

Room 1 Southern Most Stay

This is the main bedroom with a sliding door to a balcony where we have awsome views of the ocean. We have chairs and a table available here, with a private stairway down to the back garden where you park your car overnight. In the business area approximately 200m as the crow flies a new shopping area with flats on the upper level was buildt, which sadly are blocking out our view to the main beach.

Big bedrooms, good beds, great showers (inside & out) and luxurious linen, coupled with a well equipped kitchen, make for a fabulous stay! We have 2 King Sized beds, 2 single beds and 4 bunk beds. Please note, we are not suited to 10 adults - the bunkbed room is best for kids!
