Enjoy dinner from the braai on the shared, covered patio off this loft set in the historic Cape Dutch barracks, just off of the scenic Helshoogte Pass. Within a 7 minute drive from Stellenbosch on the road towards the stunning Franschoek Valley. Please let us know when you arrive telephonically so that we can let you in remotely! The loft is located in a rural settlement with easy access to Stellenbosch and Franschoek. Tokara Winery is highly recommended for wines and superb views, as well as a deli and restaurant. For a hearty breakfast, try nearby Hillcrest Berries. The rural setting is ideal for those with their own transport. There are shuttle services available in the area, but it is recommended guest have their own transport to fully explore the winelands. Uber has recently also become available and is expanding daily. Mountain biking and cycling on the mountain pass are favourite pastimes, as is hiking. Please be so kind as to communicate your approximate ETA to facilitate welcome and key hand-over at least 24-hours before arrival. As can be expected in a little country haven, there are no convenience stores in close proximity to The Barracks. We advise you to do your grocery shopping in Stellenbosch (a short 7 minute drive away) before you arrive if you plan to dine at the unit. The nature of the lofts in the historic building is that they are semis, closely situated next to one another and therefore it is important to be courteous and keep in mind that noise levels should be kept down, especially after 10h00 pm.

Stay on a Working Flower Farm in a Modern Home

Soak up the secluded splendor of this modern farmhouse in the Cape Winelands. A new expansive view awaits at every turn—admire one side of the mountain range in the light-filled entrance hall, and take in the other from the spacious sitting room that brings the outdoors in with a full-size maple tree and sliding glass doors. Colorful textiles and eclectic art objects collected from around the world enliven the farmhouse interiors, where leafy greens and flowers fill each room. Take a dip in the outdoor 15m pool, then enjoy a meal near a wood-burning fireplace on the outdoor patio. Modern house with farm interior. Access to all areas including own pool and garden. Open plan kitchen and living areas with access to verandah and vegetable garden. Will be welcome and greeted by myself ,always available by phone or text . The farmhouse is set in a secluded area just a short drive away from the quaint town of Stellenbosch, ripe with many fruit orchards and wine vineyards—some date as far back as the 1650s. Foodies would be wise to pit stop at Foliage, an award-winning restaurant listed as one of the “World’s 50 Best” restaurants. Own transport is recommended, but Uber is available if needed, guests use them often successfully. Gay friendly. Perfectly located.
