Perfect place for northern lights watching, no light pollution. A lot of interesting places in the neighbourhood and surrounding areas. Stunning mountain view (Eyjafjallajökull is only 20 km away) and very well located for day tours to many beautiful places. This area is also perfect for birdwatchers, a lot of birds arrives during spring time and the whole area sounds of birds song, spring and summer time. Unique experience for people looking to travel around Iceland or for those who prefer just to stay in and enjoy the rural countryside. With a beautiful 360° scenery and a grand pateo you can enjoy mesmerizing sunsets and spectacular northern lights showings, given the complete lack of light pollution. It's the photohgrapher's dream location. Eyjafjallajökull and Seljalandsfoss can be seen from the apartment. 4x4 is necessary during winter as the path leading to the house can get very snowy.

A unique and peaceful stay at a private house located next to the black sand beach with great views over Vestmannaeyjar and Eyjafjallajölkull volcano. The house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, open living and dining room area. Outdoor terrace, private entrance and free parking. Fjósið-Hallgeirsey is the perfect place to stay to explore the south coast, located 23 km from Hvolsvöllur (restaurants and grocery store) and only 10 min drive from the main road (15km).

Old Post Office

The old post office is a very beautiful apartment that we furnished in 2023 with a beautiful view of the Outer Rangá. Hella is very well located in the south. It is a short drive to many beautiful places. It’s really fun to stay in Hella for a few days and take a day trip to all the main places in the south. It is no problem to see the northern lights on Hella and if you drive 5-10 minutes you get out of all the street lights and manage to enjoy them even more.

It's the perfect base to visit all the main highlights of the south coast, Golden circle to the west, Seljalandsfoss, Skogarfoss, Reynisfjara, Vik to the east, Vestmannaeöarjar (about 30 min drive to Landeyjahavn to take the ferry). Also easy to take the bus to Landmannalaugar or Þórsmörk for example. Very good wifi.

Brand new comfortable and well-designed cabins. The sheltered hot outdoor shower, accessible from the bathroom, is a delightful experience in all weathers. They are both very private though it is just a stone’s throw away from the Ring Road. Excellent base for exploring the wonders of the South, for instance Gullfoss & Geysir, The Westmann Islands, the beautiful waterfalls along the south coast and The black beach in Vik.
