Little Suite in the Woods

Escape to the quiet woods of Mount Desert Island in a modern retreat within easy driving distance of Acadia National Park. The house is located on the quiet side of the island, 1/2 mile off of Rt. 198. As you depart 198 a gravel road takes you through dense forest, leaving behind the street noise and summer rush. When you arrive you are surrounded by woods with not another house in sight. If you are looking to be in town, this is not it. We are within walking distance of nature, nothing more.

Enjoy all of Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park from Drift Away Studios. This new space attached to our primary residence is the perfect spot. Located in Northeast Harbor, we are walking distance to the Marina, restaurants, and shopping. We are a short bike ride away from the Brown Mountain Gate House to enter Acadia. A 15 min drive to Bar Harbor, and steps away from the school with play spaces, and even a free public pool (July & August). We are the gem you have been searching for.

Between Bar Harbor and Seal Harbor, 10 minutes by car to both and just 5 minutes by car to the Otter Cliff entrance to Acadia Park Loop Road. Walk to the Causeway via the Grover Path in 15 minutes. 5-minute walk to the Cadillac South Ridge Trail. Large high-ceiling studio with private parking and entrance with beautiful sheltered second-story deck. We are on the Blackwoods/Bar Harbor bus route so you can catch the free Island Explorer LL Bean buses to Bar Harbor and back.

The Farm By The Sea is a place to unwind and take in some nature. Private Beach. Kayakers dream. The Farm sits on 5 acres on the ocean in Trenton. A short drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. You may enjoy dipping your toes at the oceans edge or you may like to just watch the garden grow. The apartment is self sufficient with private bathroom and entrance. We would want you to know that we may be up early mornings along with the chickens so early risers would do best here.

Lots of pillows. 2 Stove top burners, microwave, refrigerator. I provide lotion, shampoo, conditioner and soap. 3.4 miles to downtown Ellsworth, 23 miles to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. 15 miles to Bucksport, 12 miles to Blue Hill and 30 miles to Bangor. 27 miles to Historic Castine.

Cozy waterfront, two bedroom apartment with separate entrance and private deck overlooking the beautiful Maine coast. Walk the shore path through a field, filled with wildflowers, to a private cove on the Bagaduce River. Rabbitrock Retreat

Coastal village. Rabbitrock Retreat is located towards the end of a dirt road among wildflower meadows and apple trees, quiet except for the sound of birds and distant church bells. It is named after a local landmark Rabbit Rock that exists in the woods near our house, known only by select locals who used to say you could “always catch a rabbit at Rabbit Rock”. It is a place of abundance for sure, and we are happy to get to share it.

Beautiful private spa bath with a soaker tub. The sitting room can be used as a bedroom as it contains a comfortable double pull out sofa bed with an air matress.
