We renovated the 2 story earthenware built in the Edo period and made it a guesthouse. It is not spacious, but there is a kitchen with an IH cooking heater on the ground floor while leaving an earthenware wall or a thick beam.Air conditioner and oil heater are also equipped for a comfortable stay. You can experience the sound insulation unique to the earthen warehouse, the coolness of summer, and the warmth of winter. Please enjoy coffee brewed with freshly ground beans at the on-site Kominka Cafe. 10-20 minutes by car, there are Nagahama Taiko Onsen, Sogawa Onsen, Sugatani Onsen, and Ibuki Yuki.Sister River Onsen can provide coupon tickets (at a discount from the general price).For pick-up and drop-off, please contact us. There are many sightseeing spots unique to Nagahama that have often been the stage of history. Yiden Castle of Yijiai, Nagahama Castle of Toyosumi Hideji, the birthplace of Ishida Sansheng, the mountain castle and small valley castle of Japan, the land of the meeting, and Mt.It is also less than a 20-minute drive to Sekahara Battlefield. Nishimura Residence is an old-fashioned Nara-machiya that has been standing on a piece of Nara-machi for more than 100 years. I was a “grandmother” for a long time when I was a child. In Nara Town, there is a pleasant despicable feeling that never changes. "I want to be filled with this pleasant contempt even for future generations." With that in mind, I took care of the empty Nishimura Residence. - Nishimura-Tei is originally a traditional Japanese house which has been here in Nara-machi town over 100 years, where my grandmother used to live in. My mother and I decided to renovate this house to preserve and pass down the virtue of good old days in Japan to the next generation as well as to show it to you.

Spacious house with garden, facing a local shrine

Opend in May 2023, YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year. 12 bicycles (inc. those for children) are available. You can visit the Shirahige Shrine, famous for its Torii in the lake, in a 15min by those.

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

Just 5 minutes by walk from subway Imadegawa station. You can stay like you live in Kyoto. We have wooden bath with small garden view. There are wooden deck besides living space, you will have relaxing time at the wooden deck with Japanese traditional style garden "Karesansui "garden view. This house is barrier free. There are distance between Tatami room and wood floor but we can prepare bed at wood floor so I think it is no problem. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

《May 2019 TV can be watched.》 It is located 15 minutes on foot from Kyoto station. It will be lent to a Kyoto townhouse style building. I put the finest furniture and the finest bed. You can also use wifi. The bath is about the size of two adults and uses Japanese cypress. It will be a very beautiful room just opened in January. Please try and stay at once.
