"De Gulle pracht" Vacation home, Friesland

Our cozy holiday home was originally an old stable that we (Caroline and Jan) converted together, full of love and respect for the old details and materials, into this "Gulle Pracht". Through a private driveway with parking you reach the terrace with the spacious garden, a lawn with surrounding tall trees, where you can indulge. Through the two French doors you enter the bright and cozy living room with the white old beams and a fully equipped open kitchen. Wireless internet, TV and DVD are available. The removed ceiling in the living room lets in beautiful light from the skylights and gives you a view of the roof construction with the old round teachers. On top of the two lofts are the beds. The comfortable double bed is accessible via an open staircase. The other loft, where a third or fourth bed can be realized, can only be reached by flexible guests via a ladder. It is not suitable for small children because of the danger of falling, larger children find it exciting to sleep there. Please note, the two vides share the same large open space. Beneath the old beams you can enjoy a peaceful sleep, where only the sound of noisy trees, whistling birds or your lovely snoring bedfellow will be heard. The room is heated CV, but also only the wood-burning stove can comfortably heat the cottage. We provide you with enough wood to light a cosy fire. An old barn door in the living room leads into the bathroom with beamed ceiling and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a good shower, double sink and toilet. With its inlaid mosaics and all kinds of funny and old details, this space is also a pleasure for the eye. There are two bikes available for beautiful trips in the wide area (Harlingen, Franeker Bolsward). We may want to drop you off in Harlingen for a crossing to Terschelling. You can leave the car in our yard for a while. We live in the farm that is on the same property. We are available for help, information and advice for fun trips in our beautiful Friesland. Your cottage and our farmhouse are separated by our garden and the large old barn (with pool table), so we both have our own space and privacy. Kimswerd , located on the eleven city route, is a small, quiet and beautiful village where our Frisian hero " de Grutte Pier" was born and lived. He still watches over us, in petrified form, at the beginning of our little street, next to the centuries-old Church, which is certainly also worth seeing. You can do your shopping in the Harlingen, the supermarket is a fifteen minute bike ride. The old harbour of Harlingen is 10 km away from our cottage. Kimswerd is located just above the dam. From there follow signs N31 Harlingen/ Leeuwarden/Zurich and take the first exit Kimswerd, at the roundabout 1st right, at the next roundabout 1st right again, at the intersection straight on over the bridge and directly first street left (Jan Timmerstraat). At the beginning of this street, next to the church, stands the statue of the Grutte Pier. We live in the farm behind the church, Jan timmerstraat 6, first broad gravel path on the right. -For small children, sleeping on the meadow without a fence is not suitable due to the danger of falling. For big children it is fun, the loft is accessible by a ladder. Please note, it is above 1 large open space without privacy.

Unique! Right on the Fluessen, unobstructed view!

In July and August, we only use Friday as arrival and departure day and the minimum length of stay is 1 week. Our house on de Koggeplaet in Elahuizen is really right on de Fluessen and by the harbor. From the terrace, unobstructed views over the lake. Also there is a terrace on the harbor and in the garden! Elahuizen is located in the middle of the water sports area of Friesland. A quiet place for sailing, cycling, hiking or skating! The forest and a golf course in Gaasterland are also nearby!

Characteristic is the ‘smûke’ scenery with thousands of kilometres of alder, dykswâlen (wooden ramparts) and hundreds of pingos and pools. The area has unique flora and fauna. In the summer ideal for paddle boarding, fishing, swimming or mooring with your boat. The water is connected to the Dokkumer Ee. In the other seasons, it remains lively on the water, there is always something to see. On weekends, we serve breakfast (for a fee), during the week only in consultation.

In a truly unique place is our cozy cottage. Where we would like to welcome you. From the cottage you walk through the meadows along the sand paths into the woods into the Wekeromsezand. With a bit of luck you will come across mouflons, roe deer and heather cows. The cottage is fully equipped, fully furnished with a lovely box spring ,dishwasher, washing machine ,radio and TV. Beautiful Airbnb in a rural area in the Veluwe. This lovely private cottage is located next to the owner's house. So you have the kingdom to yourself. There is space for two adults, and there is a sofa bed in the living room. Relax by the fireplace, listen to the birds and the rustling trees. The tower is good isolated. The tower is near to woods, the IJssellake and not far from Amsterdam. The tower is situated on a quiet spot. Lelystad has a few good restaurants, musea and 'Bataviastad', an outlet shopping center. It is nice to have your own car or bike, because public transport is not nearby. The tower has a beautiful view on a pond and trees. It is suitable for singles, couples or a small family.
