The Cottage at Gilbert Landing

This cozy 1955 Sears & Roebuck kit house has been brought back to life! We vaulted ceilings and removed walls, but kept the original footprint. It is just the right size for a getaway for 2 or 4 with 1 private bedroom and a sleeping loft. It has all the modern conveniences and is nestled at Gilbert Landing, 1 mile from downtown and 15 min to TIEC. We are dog-friendly, with host approval. There is a $95 pet fee for one dog. No dogs under 1 year. Additional pet & cleaning fees longer stays.

Cozy cottage with one bedroom (queen bed) and bath has been completely remodeled with new hardwood floors, granite counter tops, kitchen appliances and w/d. There is a nice little deck out back with a charcoal grill or enjoy a quiet evening around the fire pit out front. Five minutes to Rutherford Hospital, easy access to TIEC, the nearby blueridge mountains, historic Asheville and Hendersonville or if you are looking for something different you could easily visit Charlotte or Greenville SC.

We are fortunate to report that our property had little damage caused by Hurricane Helene. Access roads to our property are clear & property has returned to pre-storm conditions w/power, hot water, fast Wi-Fi, & all amenities. We appreciate your stay in support of Rutherford Co. & WNC! Beautiful small home designed after many trips to Italy! Located in a peaceful neighborhood tucked in a wooded area. It has all the amenities you need to feel at home. We are 7 minutes from downtown Forest City, 12 minutes from TIEC, 20 minutes to Shelby, 1 hour to Asheville, and 1 hour more or less to many mountains, waterfalls and outdoor activities! 5-8 minutes away, you can find an Ingles supermarket with a Starbucks and gas station, a Walmart, an ALDI and other convenient stores.
